Night at the Roxbury Studio

The Laroquettes are working on paintings to submit as Banner designs for Manassas! We have a hummingbird, iris, heron, icecream sundae, boy in a fountain, a camel and maybe a hot air balloon ? Who knows what else will be created? It is just great to be together to paint and enjoy each other's company. We will definitely do this again!

Tuesdays With Marni

Next one: TUESDAY, December 12, 2014, 12-4 in my home studio in West Springfield (VA), near Old Keene Mill & Rolling Roads. (address given upon request).

Enjoy studio time working on whatever you have already started or come to get ideas of something NEW to paint! You will have plenty of space and will work along side a few other artists. I will help you as needed and will give instruction at your request. 

Bring your own supplies but water, paper towels and various other things are provided (maybe even a snack!) 

$40.00 for 4 hours. Can't come for the entire time? Check with me first and if there's room and you can come and pay by the hour!  Limited to 8 artists. Please pre-register by emailing me or by pre-paying with PayPal on my website www.marnimaree.com/classes.

More weaving going on!

Here is tonight's Art Feast Class at the Loft Art Center in Occoquan. Many more people getting their weave on today! It was one of the more 'complex' themes for Art Feast. Everyone rose to the challenge and created some beautiful basket paintings and learned some useful techniques for painting baskets and many other things.  You go, girls! And Eugene! Hope you enjoyed your Happy Birthday surprise!  Next time: Colorful Snow. Less 'thinking' more playing!

I'm back to painting again!

After a few weeks dealing with herniated disks in my neck, surgery and recuperating, I am finally painting once again! These paintings took me back to Laroque and Collioure. 

The Laroquettes are famous in France!

Here is an article about the Laroquettes Art Show with the Laroque Art Guild. If you can read French, you will read about how much fun we had painting all of the beautiful views in and around Laroque. The artists, both American and French, enjoyed meeting and getting to know each other throughout the week. The Mayor has requested that we do this every year! Well, OK I think we will!

Meanwhile, while we wait for our next trip, we will continue to meet, eat, kayak, paint and whatever else we can think of to do together! We are a special group of friends and artists.  Just look at us!
